Medicube Masks FAQs

What is a night wrapping mask?

A thick treatment you apply as the last step at night and sleep in, then rinse off in the morning. The layer seals everything underneath it and stops skin drying out overnight.

It is the format Medicube is best known for. Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask is the original and the one most people mean, and Medicube PDRN Pink Caffeine Night Wrapping Mask is the alternative if puffiness is your concern.

On the nights you use one you can skip your usual moisturiser. It is doing that job.

Which Medicube mask should I choose?

They split cleanly by what they are for.

  • Firmness and overnight repair: Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask
  • Puffiness, especially in the morning: Medicube PDRN Pink Caffeine Night Wrapping Mask
  • Dullness and uneven tone: Medicube Kojic Acid Turmeric Brightening Gel Mask
  • A quick lift before an event: Medicube Deep Vita C Daily Quick Mask

If you are buying one, the Collagen Night Wrapping Mask is the safest first choice and suits most skin.

How often can I use one?

The wrapping masks are fine two or three nights a week, and the gel masks once or twice.

Medicube Deep Vita C Daily Quick Mask is the exception, designed as a short wear mask you can use more often, which is where the name comes from.

More is not better. A mask is a top up on a routine that is already working, not a substitute for one.

Do I rinse it off?

It depends on the format, and this is where people get caught out.

  • Night wrapping masks stay on overnight and rinse off in the morning
  • Gel and sheet masks come off after fifteen to twenty minutes, and you press the leftover serum in rather than rinsing
  • Clay masks rinse off with warm water after ten to fifteen minutes

Leaving a gel or sheet mask on until it dries out works against you, because a drying mask pulls moisture back out of your skin.

Where does a mask go in my routine?

Gel and sheet masks go after cleansing and before your serums and moisturiser. They prepare the skin rather than finish it, so always follow with moisturiser.

Night wrapping masks are the opposite. They go on last, over everything else, as the final step before bed.

Clay masks go first, straight after cleansing, then carry on with your normal routine afterwards.

Can I use one if I am using retinol or acids?

Yes, with a little spacing. A hydrating or collagen mask is actually a good idea on a retinol night, because it takes the edge off the dryness.

What to avoid is stacking two strong things. Keep brightening and clay masks for the nights you are not using your retinol or an exfoliating acid.

If your skin is already stinging or flaking, pause both and give it a couple of weeks to settle before restarting.
