Heliocare FAQs

What is Heliocare?

A sun protection brand used widely in clinics and pharmacies, known for high protection formulas that are light enough to wear every day.

The range is built around the 360 line, which covers a spread of textures so you can find one that suits your skin rather than tolerating a sunscreen you dislike. Everything stocked here is SPF50.

Which Heliocare should I choose?

Pick by skin type and finish, since the protection is the same across the range.

  • Oily or blemish prone: Heliocare 360 Gel Oil-Free SPF50
  • Reactive or easily irritated: Heliocare 360 Mineral Tolerance Fluid SPF50
  • Normal skin wanting something light: Heliocare 360 Water Gel SPF50
  • Redness: Heliocare 360 A-R Emulsion SPF50
  • Lines and firmness as well as protection: Heliocare 360 Age Active Fluid SPF50

The gel and the mineral fluid are the two most people settle on.

What is the difference between the Color Gel and the Gelcream?

Both are tinted, and they are separate lines with their own shade names, which is the usual source of confusion.

  • Heliocare 360 Color Gel Oil-Free SPF50 comes in Beige and Bronze. Oil free, more matte, suits oilier skin
  • Heliocare Color Gelcream SPF50 comes in Light and Brown. A creamier texture that suits normal to dry skin

A tinted sunscreen is the easiest way to avoid a white cast, and for many people it replaces foundation on an ordinary day.

Is there a mineral option?

Yes. Heliocare 360 Mineral Tolerance Fluid SPF50 is the mineral one in the range and the usual recommendation for reactive skin or after a clinic treatment.

Mineral filters sit on the surface and start working straight away, so there is no waiting period after you apply. They can leave more of a cast than a chemical filter, though this one is formulated to keep that to a minimum.

How much should I apply, and how often?

More than feels natural. For the face alone, aim for roughly two finger lengths, or a generous half teaspoon. Most people apply about a third of what a sunscreen was tested at, which quietly cuts the protection they actually get.

Reapply every two hours outdoors, and after swimming or heavy sweating. At a desk indoors, your morning application is doing its job.

Do not forget ears, neck and the backs of your hands.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes. Sunscreen goes on last in your skincare routine and before any makeup, so it sits underneath everything.

Heliocare 360 Gel Oil-Free SPF50 and Heliocare 360 Water Gel SPF50 are the two that sink in fastest and sit best under foundation.

If you would rather skip foundation, one of the tinted options gives you light coverage and protection in a single step.
