Revision Skincare FAQs

What is Revision Skincare known for?

An American clinical brand, and three parts of the range account for most of what people come looking for.

  • The D.E.J range, their anti-ageing line, which runs from a serum to face creams and an eye cream
  • Nectifirm ADVANCED, a neck and décolletage cream
  • Intellishade TruPhysical, a moisturiser and mineral SPF in one, in clear or tinted

Beyond those it is a full routine brand, with cleansers, three strengths of vitamin C, a pigment corrector and a body range.

What is the D.E.J range?

D.E.J stands for the dermal-epidermal junction, the layer where the surface of your skin meets the deeper layer underneath. It flattens with age, and that flattening is part of why skin gets thinner and less firm over time. The range is built around supporting that layer rather than working purely on the surface.

  • D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum, the treatment step and the one to start with
  • D.E.J Face Cream for daytime and D.E.J Night Face Cream for evening
  • D.E.J Eye Cream for the same idea around the eye

You do not need the whole range. The serum and one of the creams is a complete treatment step for most people.

Which Revision vitamin C should I choose?

There are four, and the numbers are the easiest way in.

  • Vitamin C Lotion 15% if you are new to vitamin C or your skin is easily upset
  • Vitamin C Lotion 30% once you know you tolerate it
  • C+ Correcting Complex 30% if you want the full formula rather than vitamin C on its own
  • C+ Brightening Eye Complex for the eye area specifically

All of them go on in the morning, under sun protection. A higher percentage is not automatically better, and starting at 30% is the quickest way to decide vitamin C does not suit you when it probably does.

What is Nectifirm and do neck creams work?

Nectifirm ADVANCED is a cream made for the neck and décolletage, where the skin is thinner, has fewer oil glands and moves constantly.

Here is the honest answer on what to expect. A good neck cream improves hydration, texture and the crepey look that comes from dryness, and that is a real and visible difference. What it does not do is tighten loose skin or lift a jawline. That is a structural change and no cream reaches it.

If you would rather not buy a separate product, taking your face serum and moisturiser down onto your neck is genuinely better than doing nothing. The one thing worth being strict about is sun protection, since the neck and chest show sun damage earlier than the face and are much harder to correct afterwards.

What is Intellishade?

A moisturiser and a mineral sunscreen in one step, which is why it has a following among people who will not wear a separate SPF.

  • Intellishade TruPhysical Clear leaves no colour, so it suits anyone who does not want tint
  • Intellishade TruPhysical Tinted gives light coverage and can replace a base

The trade-off with any all in one is quantity. People apply moisturiser in a thinner layer than sunscreen, so use more than feels natural or you will not get the protection on the label.

Where should I start with Revision Skincare?

Three products, in this order.

  • A cleanser. Gentle Foaming Cleanser or Gentle Cleansing Lotion for most skin, Brightening Facial Wash for dullness, Purifying Cleansing Gel for congestion
  • Intellishade TruPhysical in the morning, which covers moisturiser and sun protection together
  • One treatment. D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum for ageing, Advanced Pigment Corrector+ for dark marks, or a Vitamin C Lotion for dullness

That is a full routine. Add the night cream, the eye cream and Nectifirm later if you want them, rather than buying the range in one go.
