Combination Skin Collection FAQs

What causes combination skin?

You have more oil glands in your T-zone, the forehead, nose and chin, than on your cheeks. So the centre of your face can be shiny while your cheeks are normal or dry. It is mostly genetic, and it often shifts with the seasons, oilier in summer and drier in winter.

What should my routine look like, morning and night?

You do not need two full routines. Treat the oily areas and the dry areas differently only where it matters.

Which ingredients help, and which make it worse?

  • Help: niacinamide to balance oil, hyaluronic acid for light hydration everywhere, and salicylic acid on the T-zone
  • Make it worse: one heavy cream used everywhere, stripping cleansers, and strong acids on dry cheeks

How long before I see a difference?

A better balanced feel should come within two to three weeks. Pores and breakouts in the T-zone take six to eight weeks to settle with a regular treatment.

Can I use these alongside retinol, acids or SPF?

Yes. Apply retinoids and acids where you need them. Your cheeks may need fewer nights than your T-zone, so it is fine to use them on different areas or different nights.

Use SPF every morning, in a light lotion or fluid texture.

Which products would you start me on?

Get in touch and tell us which parts of your face feel oily and which feel tight, and we will help you choose.
