Genosys FAQs

What is Genosys?

A Korean skincare brand developed for professional and clinic use, which is why the range reads more clinically than most and why the products are usually sold as matched pairs.

The formulas are built around peptides, growth factor technology and barrier support. It is a range for people who want something more targeted than high street skincare.

Where should I start with Genosys?

Pick the family that matches your main concern and take the serum first.

  • Lines and firmness: Multi Functioning Anti Wrinkle Serum
  • Dullness and uneven tone: Multi Vita Radiance Serum
  • Dehydration: Moisture Replenishing Hyaluron Serum
  • Congestion and blemishes: Problem Control Serum
  • Reactive or easily irritated skin: All for Sensitive Serum

Each of those has a matching cream in the same name. Adding the cream is the natural second step, but the serum on its own is a fine place to begin.

Why do the serums and creams have the same names?

Because they are designed as pairs. The serum delivers the active ingredients and the cream seals them in and keeps the barrier comfortable.

Worth knowing when you are ordering, because two of the names are only a letter apart. Multi Functioning Anti Wrinkle Serum is the serum and Multi Functional Anti Wrinkle Cream is the cream. They are the same family.

You do not have to buy both. A Genosys serum layers perfectly well under a moisturiser you already own.

Which Genosys products suit skin that needs calming?

The barrier and soothing side of the range is one of its strengths.

Intensive Hydro Soothing Cream, Skin Barrier Protecting Cream and All for Sensitive Serum are the everyday options. Skin Reboot PDRN Mask and Soothing Bomb Sea Algae Mask are the treatment ones.

If you are using these around a clinic treatment, follow whatever your practitioner has told you. They know what was done to your skin and when it is ready for active products again.

What is the Blemish Balm Cushion?

A cushion compact that gives light coverage and carries SPF50, so it evens out your skin and protects it in one step.

It comes in Beige and Camel, and there are refills so you keep the compact and replace the insert. It is popular with people who want coverage that does not feel like foundation.

It is not a substitute for a proper sunscreen underneath. Almost nobody applies enough cushion product to reach the protection on the label, so use it over your SPF rather than instead of it.

Does Genosys do a sunscreen?

Two. Ultra Shield Sun Cream SPF50 is the higher protection option, and Multi Sun Cream SPF40 PA++ is the lighter everyday one.

Go for the SPF50 if you are treating pigmentation or using actives like retinol or acids, since both make skin more vulnerable to sun.
